Proud members of Arts & Business NI
Farrans is proud to continue our membership with Arts & Business NI for a fourth year. Working together in partnership with A&B brought a new creative aspect to how we engaged with the local community and our own employees. Working in partnership has brought a creative aspect to how we engage with communities, clients and our employees.
We value the arts sector and recognise the power it has in reigniting team spirit and bringing our big ideas to life.
Arts & Business NI is a membership organisation for cultural and commercial businesses in Northern Ireland: members range from theatre companies to banks, solicitors to galleries and more. They have been working for over 30 years to spark connections between these members, to solve their respective working challenges, ultimately helping both sides to flourish, prosper and achieve their big ambitions.
Our involvement with Arts and Business started in 2018, when we partnered with Arts Care as part of our community engagement programme during the construction of the Altnagelvin Hospital. A series of interactive workshops were rolled out and as a result, a large-scale artwork was gifted to the Hospital for display.
The art workshops were facilitated on the live construction site, embracing the talents of local artists, the construction team and patients, a unique inside outside art gallery was created. These workshops represented a wide cross slice of the community including local artists, more than 80 patients, hospital staff and school children from local schools. The healing art also served to support the mental and physical wellbeing of our workforce. Artwork created was digitally produced into large-scale and later installed on construction hoardings.
All Artwork was gifted back to the hospital and centres who participated in the project on completion.
